Lisa Winland

Lisa Winland (B.S. ’95) earned a dual B.S. in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry from West Virginia Tech in 1995. She co-oped throughout her bachelor’s degree with Cytec Industries in Willow Island, West Virginia.  

After graduating from West Virginia Tech, she went on to complete her M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Ohio University. In 1999 she returned to work with Cytec Industries in Willow Island as a process chemist where she completed her Ph.D. while working full time in 2000. She quickly got promoted to process specialist and then changed career paths once going through the Black Belt program. She became a Master Black Belt in 2002. As a Master Black Belt in Cytec Industries, she traveled the world training people in Six Sigma and working on projects. She developed material and was responsible for maintaining the Six Sigma program in Cytec Industries.   

In 2019 she left Cytec Industries to work as an independent consultant, doing the same thing that she has done since her 2002 Black Belt training, training and mentoring people in statistical and DOE tools.
